  UCB celebrates 27th anniversary

Dhaka : United Commer-cial Bank (UCB) is in celebration of glorious 27years of banking in Bangladesh. UCB started its journey on June 29, 1983. Presently, the bank has around 100 branches all over the country and over five lakh subscribers.

The bank's total amount of deposit now stands at around Tk 9,000 crore and total loan and advances at around Tk 8,000. The bank has made operating profit of Tk. 225 crore till June, an amount that is two times higher than the last two years generating 150 jobs a year.

In a function in connection of celebrating the occasion M Shahjahan Bhuiyan, Mana-ging Director of UCB announced that the bank is expecting to start 'off-shore banking ' and merchant banking very soon.
