US Bangla adds brand new ATR aircraft to its fleet

Dhaka : The private carrier US-Bangla Airlines added a brand new aircraft to its fleet on September 26 as part of the airline's plan to increase flight frequency on domestic and regional routes.
The new 72-seat turboprop ATR 72-600 aircraft landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital at 3:20pm from France after re-fueling in Egypt and Oman. Capt Ahmed Sikder, Chief Advisor of US-Bangla airlines formally received the aircraft.
The carrier now has the largest fleet among the country's private airlines with 10 aircraft. Besides the new aircraft, there are four Boeing 737-800s and three Dash8-Q400s and two ATR 72-600s in the airline's fleet.
Avation PLC has delivered this new ATR 72-600 airplane to US-Bangla Airlines under an operating lease agreed at market rates.
This is the second operating lease transaction the AIM-listed commercial passenger aircraft leasing company has arranged with US-Bangla.
Avation posted record annual revenues and profits this year, respectively up 21 per cent to USD117.7 million and up 28 per cent to USD25.7 million.
US-Bangla Airlines, headquartered in Dhaka and based at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, currently flies to 17 destinations. The carrier flies to eight destinations in Bangladesh - Dhaka, Chattogram, Jessore, Cox's Bazar, Saidpur, Sylhet, Rajshahi and Barisal and 9 destinations abroad - Guangzhou, Kolkata, Chennai, Kuala Lumpur, Muscat, Doha, Singapore, Bangkok and Kathmandu.
US-Bangla Airlines commenced operations with domestic flights on 17 July 2014. It is a subsidiary of US-Bangla Group, a United States-Bangladesh joint venture company.
The airline has a frequent flyers' programme called Sky Star Programme which brings a range of offers and concessions to the frequent flyers.
From September 25, the carrier is operating daily flights to Barisal.
