CAAB, ADC sign deal for HSIA third terminal construction

Dhaka : Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh (CAAB) and Aviation Dhaka Consortium (ADC) has signed an agreement concerning construction of third terminal of Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport (HSIA).
Jointly financed by CAAB and JICA, the agreement for third terminal was signed on January 14 at a simple ceremony. Chairman of CAAB Air Vice Marshal Mohammad Mafidur Rahman and General Manager of Mitsubishi Corporation Yasunori Sakamoto signed the agreement on behalf of CAAB and ADC.
State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Mohammad Mahbub Ali, MP was present as chief guest at the signing ceremony. Senior Secretary of Ministry of Civil Aviation and tourism Mohammad Mohibul Haq; Ambassador of Japan to Bangladesh Nowki Ito; Chief Representative of JICA Dhaka office Hitoshi Hirata and senior officials of CAAB, JICA; consultant Nippon Koei and contractor ADC were present.
It may be recalled that on December 28, 2019, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina formally inaugurated the construction of third terminal.
When completed, the third terminal will allow HSIA to handle 20 million passenger annually and ensure facilities of international standard.
