Biman increasing capacity, widening route network and upgrading all services

Dhaka : This year (2019) Biman Bangladesh Airlines Limited is going to celebrate 47 years with higher capacity and wider route network.
This was stated by Shakil Miraj, General Manager - Public Relations while speaking at the opening ceremony of NOVOAIR Dhaka Travel Mart 2019 at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel on March 21.
"We are developing our fleet with best airplanes to fulfill our mission requirements - and that mission is the continued growth and success of Biman Bangladesh Airlines. Biman is now five Star Airlines in terms of Safety Standard".
To meet the needs and expectations of customers, Biman is continuing to upgrade aircraft, service, network, ticketing, cabin interior and in-flight entertainment, Shakil said.
He informed that two Boeing 737-800 NGs will join the fleet in next month and two new Boeing 787-Dreamliners will be added to our fleet in coming September. Biman is now looking to expand network, as well as expand the frequency of current network in the ensuing Summer Schedule. The airline is going to open new route to Guanzhou by June next.
Shakil also informed that Biman is now offering many exciting new products and services to valued guests. The airline has revamped in-flight services with introducing A La Carte Menu and all day dining for the Business Class passengers and is now also providing "Diabetic Meal and Kids Meal" for passengers in need.
Combined with safety and security, number one focus of Biman is to become a truly customer-oriented airline, Shakil said and added introduction of a brand new digitised entertainment system is a testimony to that commitment.
The airline also invested BDT100 crore for buying new ground support equipment and recruited more than 700 employees to augment the ground handling services at airports in Bangladesh.
To meet the growing demands of guests, Biman has introduced "Biman Holidays", a one-stop travel solution which ushers in a new horizon in services.
Biman came up with discounts of 10 to 25 per cent on ticket prices for destinations to Kolkata, Kathmandu, Yangon, Bangkok, Singapore and Kuala Lumpur.
Biman Bangladesh Airlines made its ticket selling facilities through mobile phone and mobile banking to provide further smooth customer care to its passengers.
