Dhaka : Japan Airlines Cargo (JAL Cargo) has announced Airline Cargo Resources Ltd (ACRL) as their newly-appointed offline General Sales and Services Agent (GSSA) in Bangladesh. This will enable JAL to handle export cargo from Bangladesh to Japan and beyond, by air.

The announcement took place in Dhaka on February 25 where Japan Airlines Cargo officials from Regional Office, officials of ACRL, local and International freight forwarders were present.

JAL Cargo will start its offline operations from Dhaka to rest of the world via Japan from March 2019.

The airline will carry air cargo via the interline partners, including the national carrier Biman Bangladesh Airline through Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore where Japan Airlines has their regular multiple online flights.

"Japan has emerged as a potential export market for Bangladesh in the Asian region, as export earnings from Bangladesh have seen an 11.73 per cent rise to US$1.13 billion in FY18," said Daisuke Kimura, Director, Cargo Route Marketing, Asia and Oceania Region, Japan Airlines Co. Ltd.

"Hence we as an airline like to explore this emerging market and surge our market share where our new GSSA Airline Cargo Resources Ltd will play a vital role with the vast experience in air cargo market in Bangladesh," he added.
