BAT Bangladesh announces dividend of BDT50 and 1:2 Stock Dividend per share

Dhaka : British American Tobacco Bangladesh Company Limited (BAT Bangladesh) held its Extraordinary General Meeting and the 46th Annual General Meeting on April 28 at the Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka hotel in the capital.

Golam Mainuddin, Chairman of BAT Bangladesh presided over the meetings. Both the events were attended by a significant number of shareholders. The EGM shareholders unanimously passed two special agendas on the occasion. In the 46th AGM, shareholders unanimously passed the accounts for the year which ended on December 31, 2018 as well as Directors' Report and Auditor's Report 2018.

The Board of Directors and shareholders also approved the proposed dividend of BDT50 cash dividend and 1:2 Stock Dividend per share. The board also exchanged their views with shareholders and attended shareholders' questions.

In 2018, the company contributed BDT19,133 crore as value added tax, supplementary duty and other taxes to the national exchequer, making BAT Bangladesh the highest taxpayer in the country. In addition, various initiatives of the company e.g., CSR projects, gender equality practice, sustainable agriculture initiatives etc have been contributing towards achieving the UN SDGs and different national goals making a balance for a better Bangladesh.

Shehzad Munim, Managing Director of BAT Bangladesh along with Board of Directors comprising of Mohammad Moinuddin Abdullah, KH Masud Siddiqui, AKM Aftab Ul Islam FCA, Md Abdul Halim, Tahmina Begum, Kazi Sanaul Hoq, and Md. Azizur Rahman, Head of Public Affairs and Company Secretary FCS were present on the occasion among others.
