Shahjalal Islami Bank launches Agent Banking Operation

Dhaka : Shahjalal Islami Bank Limited started Agent Banking operation to provide banking services at the doorsteps of all people under financial inclusive activities.
Akkas Uddin Mollah, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Bank formally inaugurated the Agent Banking operation as the Chief Guest at the Bank's Corporate Head Office on January 2. M Shahidul Islam, Managing Director and CEO of the Bank presided over the ceremony.
The Bank started its Agent Banking Operation with 15 outlets initially in five divisions of the country. There are seven outlets in Dhaka division, five in Rajshahi, one in Khulna, one in Barishal and one in Chattogram.
From the Agent Banking Outlets, the customers can open accounts, deposit and withdraw cash, receive foreign remittance, receive deposit, fund transfer, investment facilities, pay different types of utility bill and receive all other types of banking services.
Speaking on the occasion, Akkas Uddin Mollah said, "Shahjalal Islami Bank Ltd will extend banking services consistently to all classes of people of the society. We hope that the Bank agent banking activities will bring positive changes in rural economy in our country."
M Shahidul Islam, Managing Director and CEO, SJIBL said, "Agent banking services are growing fast and constantly developing in remote areas of the country. The credibility of mass people towards Agent Banking is increasing day by day due to availability of different Agent Outlets near to hand."
