Dhaka : Good value for money in a busy market environment. I was pleasantly surprised by the bustling environment where it is located when I finally got there.

The surrounding street markets are great to explore in the evenings and I found it easy enough to get transport to and from the area.

The buffet breakfast on the roof is of very good quality. There were enough items available for vegetarians. The restaurant is quite popular in the evening and the roof, where it is located (10th Floor) has a great view of this part of Dhaka.

The favourable comment was a guest review by a vegetarian guest from UK of blue-and-cream colour themed Hotel Shuktara at Farm Gate in the city.

The rooms are well cleaned each day. It's a budget hotel in my view and in this case, it's good value for money. The big bonus is the staff and the wonderful welcoming attitude of the team of people, who work in reception right through to the people who clean the rooms, he went on.

They actually seem happy to be working there and hopefully they are. They certainly made me feel very welcome, he added.

Overall the place is highly recommended, wrote the guest.

Another guest wrote, recently I stayed at the hotel, as recommended by one of my colleagues. The hotel looks decent from outside and is located at Farmgate, beside Tejgaon College.

He said, I must say that members of the staff are really hospitable and nice. The room was good, decent and clean. The WiFi was strong too.

The hotel has a rooftop restaurant, the location is great, and you can find many eateries nearby. The location is mostly visited by youths and commuting to all locations from the hotel is easy.

Overall a decent hotel within budget in a good location, he wrote.

The hotel is very calm and clean. Rooms are very cozy and the staff members are cooperative and helpful. The room tariff is reasonable. Restaurant of the hotel is well decorated and the foods are yummy!! Location of the hotel is also good. Overall I am very happy to stay at Hotel Shuktara.

All these are comments, on TripAdvisor, on Hotel Shuktara, a residential hotel in the city loved by local and foreign guests alike. The hotel in Farmgate area has 99 spacious and fully-equipped Standard Single, Double and Premium Deluxe rooms.

The hotel has a 150-seat restaurant and another one on the rooftop with 100-seat capacity, a fitness centre and a gift shop.

The rooftop restaurant, which gives a great view of the city's skyline, is the favourite of young guests.

The credit for the favourable guest reviews and attracting both corporate and youthful clientele goes to Sharif Sadi and Md Jashim Uddin, Directors of Equity Hospitality and Tourism Management (EHTM).

Owned by Mesbah Uddin (Tutul), Chairman, Hotel Shuktara, the hotel's day-to-day operation is overseen by the EHTM team, who also run NF Garden, a picnic spot with 12 guest rooms near Savar.

Chairman, Hotel Shuktara said, "I am a real estate businessman. So I have entrusted the management of the hotel to EHTM. And they are doing a good job at it."

Sharif Sadi said we get guests from corporate sector as well as people who like to commute to different places in the city, as Farmgate is a transportation hub and has a lively street market.

"It's in the heart of city. Guests can't get a better place than this," Sadi said.
