Chittagong: HM Hakim Ali, a pioneer in tourism and hospitality sector in Bangladesh, has been honoured with “Lifetime Achievement Award” by the Department of Tourism and Hospitality Management, University of Dhaka.
“In grateful recognition of his visionary guidance and unwavering leadership in the Tourism and Hospitality Sector in Bangladesh. The legacy will be remembered by many generations to come,” said the citation.
In addition to above Hakim Ali has been bestowed with “Lifetime Achievement Award” by The Bangladesh Monitor,” a fortnightly journal on Aviation, Tourism, Hospitality for his continuous dedicated services for the development and promotion of tourism in the country. The award was handed over to him by Rashed Khan Menon, Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism.
HM Hakim Ali dedicated his life for the development and promotion of tourism in the country for the last 45 years. In recognition of his long relentless effort for the development and promotion of tourism in Bangladesh, he has been elected unanimously as the President of South Asia Tourism Federation (SATF) by SAARC countries’ representatives in 2015 to speed up tourism in SAARC countries.
He is also president of Bangladesh International Hotel Association (BIHA).
