Business conference held by UAE Embassy notes

”Bilateral trade between UAE-Bangladesh crossed USD1 billion”

Dhaka: Bilateral trade between United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Bangladesh crossed USD1 billion in the recent years. Also, Bangladesh has received the 2nd highest remittances from UAE which stands for USD2.4 billion.

Altap Hossain, Economic Analyst, UAE Embassy stated these facts through a presentation on ‘UAE-Bangladesh Business Ties: Present Status and Future Opportunities’ in a business conference and networking session organised by the Embassy of UAE, Dhaka in association with Intraco Group and Royal Paradise today at Royal Paradise hotel, Dhaka.

Kazi M. Aminul Islam, Executive Chairman, Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) attended the event as Chief Guest.

H.E. Saed Mohammed AlMheiri, Ambassador of the United Arab Emirates (UAE) to Bangladesh, Abdulla Ali AlHmoudi, Deputy Head of Mission of UAE to Bangladesh, Mohammed Riyadh Ali, Managing Director, Intraco Group and Saeed Abdullah Al Miran, Country Manager, Emirates Airlines spoke on the occasion among others.

Businessmen from both countries discussed on current trends, investments, success stories, operational business problems, future growth prospects and prioritised cooperation areas at the conference. They also discussed ideas and propositions that will mutually benefit both countries.

Saeed Abdullah Al Miran, Country Manager, Emirates Airlines, said, “UAE is keen to deepen its bilateral relations with Bangladesh on all fronts.”

H.E. Saed Mohammed AlMheiri, Ambassador, UAE to Bangladesh, further said, “My country is eager to invest in different sectors of Bangladesh and we would like to extend our hands to businessmen of both countries in order to increase business volume.”

Chief Guest Kazi M. Aminul Islam, Executive Chairman, BIDA, claimed Bangladesh to be a unique platform for foreign investors now. He also mentioned BIDA’s efforts to ensure safety and security for all foreign investors.

“We hope various UAE companies will come to our country and bring in more investments,” the chief guest concluded.
