Dhaka: Khon Kaen airport is set to increase the number of daily domestic flights from April 21–26 during Songkran, the national holiday of Thai New Year. The airport expects to welcome 2,500 passenger arrivals per day during the holiday period.
“The airlines have finalised their flight schedules for the holiday period. The airport will serve 26 flights per day or 52 landings and takeoffs. Currently, there are 21 flights operating to this north-eastern province per day, marking 42 landings and takeoffs,” Athaya Larpmak, Director, Khon Kaen airport, said on April 8.
THAI Airways International, Thai AirAsia and THAI Smile Airways have all agreed to increase the number of their domestic flights to Khon Kaen between April 9 and 17, added the airport director.
THAI and Thai AirAsia have added the most flights on the Don Mueang-Khon Kaen route.
Passengers have also started booking additional flights on the Khon Kaen – Chiang Mai, Khon Kaen – Hat Yai, Khon Kaen – U Tapao and Khon Kaen – Phuket routes.
