Dhaka: National Hotel and Tourism Training Institute (NHTTI) organised a Food safety and Hygiene Carnival at the Banquet Hall of Hotel Abakash in the city on February 7,
A total of 104 trainees from various courses on Food safety and Hygiene, conducted by NHTTI were divided into 10 groups to display hygienic food and souvenirs at the carnival. Chairman of Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation Dr. Aparup Chowdhury formally inaugurated the event.
“We have been trying to create awareness among all the people including food makers, servers and consumers. This carnival is one of our many initiatives in that purpose,” said Parvez Ahmed Chowdhury, Principal NHTTI.
Participants in the categories like Hygienic Food, project and Souvenir were awarded for their outstanding display at the carnival, organised for the second time by NHTTI
National Hotel and Tourism Training Institute was established in 1974 and presently conducting Food Safety and Hygiene training courses on HACCP, Receiving and Preservation of Food, Checking and Delivery Rules of Storage, Personal Hygiene, Waste and Pest Control, Kitchen Hygiene, Food Hygiene and Safety, Food Poisoning, Food Spoilage and Germs, Food Hygiene and Nutrition, Food Contamination and Temperature, Food Preparation, Preparing Frozen Food, Safe Cooking, Re-heating Cooking Food.
