Le Méridien Dhaka holds food festival ‘Taste of Jordan’

Dhaka: Le Méridien Dhaka is organising a food festival titled ‘Taste of Jordan’ inspired by the rich and modest tradition of the country from October 17-31 at its signature restaurant Olea.

The hotel has brought Guest Chef Ali Al-Fawadlah, Chef De Partie, Sheraton Amman Al-Nabil Hotel: Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, to delight the foodies with authentic Jordanian cuisine.

“Influenced by the Arab food culture, Jordanian dishes consist of the finest meats, spices and delicious sweets and make for a well-rounded dining experience that is not to be missed,” said Constantinos S Gavriel, General Manager, Le Méridien Dhaka.

The wide variety of grand delicacies includes Za’atar, Cheese, and Labenah with Shatta. These are followed by appetisers of family-style cold and hot Mezze such as Hummus, Foul bi Zeit, Hara Salad (Spicy Jordanian Tomato Salad), Musakhan Rolls, Sajeyeh Halloumi with Lamb Meat, Mshat (Frittatas Cauliflower), Shorba (soup): Meatballs with Parsley (Lamb) and many more.

Moving on to the main course, Jordan’s national dish, Mansaf is being served. This traditional Bedouin meal is prepared by cooking lamb with herbs in Jameed (dried yogurt) and is served with rice, pine nuts and almond.

Other dishes feature Stuffed Chicken Roll with Fraikeh Gold Quail, Boneless Chicken with Steamed Spicy Barley, Sayadieh Fish with Tahini Sauce and Arabic Salad, Maqluba (Upside Down) and Shish Barak.

To round off, there is an assortment of tummy-pleasing Jordanian desserts such as Kunafe, Mutabak, Harissa and Arabic Ice Cream. Jordanian beverages, such as Laban Aryan, are also available for the guests to enjoy.
