Three-day International Tourism fair kicks off in the Capital

Dhaka: March 30, 2017 - A three day international tourism fair under the style US- Bangla Airlines Dhaka Travel Mart 2017 begins at the Ball Room of Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel today. Rashed Khan Menon, MP, Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism formally inaugurated the fair as the Chief Guest.

Fourteenth edition of the Dhaka Travel Mart is organised by The Bangladesh Monitor, premier travel and tourism publication of the country. Leading private sector carrier US- Bangla Airlines is supporting the event as the Title Sponsor while national carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines is the Airline partner of the fair.

Presided over by Kazi Wahidul Alam, Editor, The Bangladesh Monitor, the function was also addressed by Rashed Khan Menon, MP, Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism, Dr. Md. Nasir Uddin CEO of Bangladesh Tourism Board, Dr. Aparup Chowdhury, Chairman, Bangladesh Parjatan Corporation, A. M. Mosaddique Ahmed, Managing Director and CEO of Biman Bangladesh Airlines and Imran Asif, CEO of US- Bangla Airlines.

About 50 organisations including National Tourism Organisations (NTOs), Airlines, Tour Operators, Hotels, Resorts, Healthcare service providers and others from different countries including host Bangladesh are taking part in the fair this year.

Participating organisations during the 3 day fair are offering special discount on airfares, tour packages and other tourism products and services for the visitors.

On sideline of the fair a round table conference on ‘Emergence of Halal Tourism’ will be held on Saturday, April 1 at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel. Experts in the concerned sector from Malaysia, Thailand and Bangladesh will take part in the discussion.

Visitors may go around the fair from 10 am to 8 pm everyday from 30 March- 1 April paying an entry fee of Tk. 30. Raffle draw on the entry coupons will be held on the concluding day, April 11, at 7.30 pm at the fair venue in front of visitors. Prizes will include airline tickets to various domestic and international destinations, exciting tour packages, star hotel accommodation, lunch/dinner coupons among others.
