Biman launches Dhaka-Manchester flight

Dhaka: Biman Bangladesh Airlines is going to launch its maiden flight on Dhaka-Manchester route on January 5.

Md Mahbub Ali, State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism will inaugurate the flight as the Chief Guest by cutting a ribbon at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the city.

High officials from Biman, Civil Aviation and Airport Authority will also be present on the occasion.

The flag carrier is going to operate three weekly flights – on Sunday, Tuesday and Thursday – on the route by a newly inducted Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner.

This is the 17th route of the airline which aims to cater to the 90 thousand Bangladeshis residing in Manchester of the UK.

Not to mention, Biman previously operated on the route, however, due to lack of enough aircraft, the airline shut down its Manchester services in 2012.

The brand new Boeing 787-9 Dreamliner has a total seat capacity of 298, 30 in Business Class, 21 in Premium Economy and 247 in Economy.

Biman currently has 18 aircraft in its fleet including six Dreamliners.

Also, passengers can purchase air tickets of Biman’s flights through its app and make payments through bKash, Rocket and any other card.
