Singapore lends support to airlines amid coronavirus pandemic

Dhaka: The Civil Aviation Authority of Singapore under the Ministry of Transport rolled out Enhanced Aviation Support Package (EASP) on March 26 to provide cost relief to affected businesses in the aviation sector and to ensure a minimum level of air connectivity to and from Singapore.

Under the EASP, airlines operating at Changi Airport are going to receive support to defray their costs incurred.

The specific measures included in the support package are: 10 per cent landing charge rebate for scheduled airlines' passenger and freighter flights from all points; 100 per cent parking charge rebate for all scheduled airlines' passenger flights and 50 per cent rental rebate for airlines' lounges and offices within Changi Airport terminal buildings, all effective till October 31.

Additionally, the increase of one per cent Landing, Parking and Aerobridge (LPA) charges at Changi Airport scheduled to take effect from April 1 will be waived for an additional six months (for the entire period of April 1, 2020 to March 31, 2021).
