Biman extends cancellation of operations till May 15

Dhaka: The national flag carrier Biman Bangladesh Airlines on April 29 announced the extension of all international and domestic flight suspension till May 15 following the global coronavirus pandemic.

"Taking into account the evolving situation over COVID-19, Biman Bangladesh Airlines has cancelled all domestic and international flights till May 15," Biman said in a notice.

With the suspension of its two remaining flights on London and Manchester routes on March 30, the flag carrier halted operations to all 17 international routes.

Earlier on April 28, the Civil Aviation Authority of Bangladesh extended the ongoing ban on passenger flight operations with all countries, except for China, until May 7 to contain the spread of COVID-19 in the country.

The travel ban applied to and from countries are as follows: Bahrain, Bhutan, Hong Kong, India, Kuwait, Malaysia, Maldives, Oman, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Sri Lanka, Singapore, Thailand, Turkey, UAE and UK, CAAB mentioned in a circular.
