Hospitality industry elite Sadique Ahsan passes away

Dhaka: Renowned hotelier Sadique Ahsan passed away at his residence on May 14 at 3:00 am due to cardiac arrest.

Late Sadique Ahsan had an illustrious career spanning over four decades in the travel and hospitality industry, starting with Pan Pacific Sonargaon Dhaka in 1980.

Over the years, he worked at various prestigious hotels, resorts and other institutions with honesty and dedication including Jamuna Resort, Hotel Grand Park Barishal, Hotel Marino Royal Uttara, Hotel Rose View Sylhet, Best Aviation and Dream Square Resort in Gazipur as General Manager.

He furthermore worked as the local consultant for leading hotels such as Radisson Blu Dhaka Water Garden, The Westin Dhaka and Amari Dhaka.

His professional prowess reached beyond the borders as he worked as the Head of the preopening team of Hotel Sandor in Malaysia.

Even after having a finance background from Jagannath University, out of his unparalleled passion, Late Sadique Ahsan decided to dedicate himself to the development of the country's tourism and hospitality industry.

He was also the CEO of Crystal Tours and Travels, Constant of Crystal Hotels and Resorts, Advisor and Founder President of Bangladesh Hotel and Guesthouse Owners' Association, Founder President of Industry Skill Council, Director - Trade and Fair of TOAB and Director - Membership Development of PATA.

He is survived by his wife, one son, one daughter and a host of relatives, friends and colleagues from the travel and hospitality industry.
