Nepal extends suspension of domestic, int'l flights till June 14

Dhaka: The Civil Aviation Authority of Nepal announced on May 21 in an urgent notice that the country has extended suspension of passenger flights till June 14 to contain the spread of the coronavirus.

"As per the decision of Government of Nepal (Council of Ministers), the suspension period of all domestic and international commercial passenger flights has extended till June 14, 2020 (23:59 NST)," the notice said.

Special permission from CAAN is required for rescue flights, freighter flights and flights related to medical and other essentials supplies, the notice added.

As of today, Nepal has 584 confirmed cases of the coronavirus while 70 have recovered and three died.
