CHITTAGONG: Several travels agent of Chittagong have asked Malaysian Airlines to allot permanent capping for travel agents in Chittagong.
Now travel agents have to call Malaysia Airlines for allotment of capping after creating PNR, but local travel agent wants permanent capping to issue tickets anytime.
Because of the lack of capping, sometimes travel agents of Chittagong cannot issue Malaysia Airlines tickets as per demand.
The travel agents made the demand at a joint briefing organised by Malaysia Airlines and Sabre-Bangladesh at Dalia Hall of Hotel Peninsula- Chittagong on August 9. Thirty-five top IATA-accredited travel agents of Chittagong attended the briefing.
Colonel Md Akber Hossain, psc (Retd), Director and CEO, Malaysia Airlines’ GSA, Bangladesh assured travel agents that he will take necessary steps to solve the temporary capping problem of Malaysian Airlines.
Earlier, Abdullah Al Mamun, Senior Assistant Manager, Sales & Marketing , delivered the opening speech. Khawja Hasibuddin Sayem – In-charge of Reservation & Ticketing, Malaysia Airlines made a presentation about the ticketing system and promotion of Malaysia Airlines in Bangladesh.
From Sabre Mahbubul Islam, Manager-Technical Support, Jotirmoy Das, Assistant Manager, Business development, Azad Barkat, General Manager, Sales- Sabre, made presentations on their product in Bangladesh.
Sabre, formerly Abacus, is now in its second year in Bangladesh. Besides airlines bookings, now travel agent can book Euro rail, hotels, web base online ticketing through Sabre GDS. Monjure Morshed, Assistant Manager- Sales, Uday Chakrabarty-Asst. Manger- Sales), Jessie Dsilva, Assistant Manager Customer support of Sabre are also attended on the programme.
