Brazilian Week held at Dhaka Regency

Dhaka Regency Hotel, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Federative Republic of Brazil, has hosted “Brazilian Week” food and cultural festival during April 21 – 25 at all-day dining venue Grandiose Restaurant.

Guests explored an array of exciting lavish delights carefully prepared by the celebrity chefs who have been flown in by the Brazil embassy to provide local residents an opportunity to experience Brazil’s culinary heritage.

A buffet dinner comprising of wonderful dishes such as premium cut beef BBQ called picanha, clay pot stew moqueca, sweet truffles Brigadeiros, and more at BDT 3,490.

Additionally, guests also had opportunity to enjoy the soothing tones of Indiana Nomma, a popular bossa nova and jazz singer from Brazil, during this festival. This will be her first ever performance in Bangladesh.

The festival was inaugurated on April 20 evening amidst 200 dignitaries. Brazil ambassador João Tabajara de Oliveira Jùnior, and Shahid Hamid FIH, Executive Director of Dhaka Regency Hotel & Resort presided over the inaugural ceremony. Also in attendance were celebrity chefs Ronny Peterson and Marcos Vieira.

The ambassador said, “From the moment I came to Dhaka, I realised the first thing I have to do is show more of Brazil to the people of Bangladesh and of Bangladesh to Brazil. The passion of the people in this country wonderfully complements that of my country.”

“The people of Bangladesh have always associated Brazil with football. However, we cannot fully appreciate the rich heritage and unique cuisine of this vibrant nation,” said the Shahid Hamid.
