Aminur Rahman, a pioneer travel trade personality expires

Dhaka: Aminur Rahman, the pioneer travel trade personality in Bangladesh, has expired of old age at Apollo Hospital on July 16. He was 89.

He started his travel trade business in 1973 when he founded “The Travel International” in Chittagong, soon after the independence of Bangladesh.

Later he expanded his operations to Dhaka and had an office at Pan Pacific Sonargaon Hotel arcade in 1981.

His Travel Time Limited was GSA for KLM Royal Dutch Airlines and Iran Air, while the Travel Trade Limited was GSA for Gulf Air in Bangladesh.

He was the biggest supplier of British Rail and German Rail. After the liberation, he had business with Bangladesh Railways for many years”

He was nephew of Mustafizur Rahman, former Foreign Minister of Bangladesh.

He left behind his German wife Astrid Rahman, son Daniel Rahman and hosts of his friends, colleagues and well-wishers to mourn his death.

He was buried in Rayerbazar intellectual graveyard the same day after namaz-e-janaza.
