Dhaka: Bangladesh Commerce Minister Tofail Ahmed has urged the Japanese government to withdraw the alert imposed on its citizens travelling to Bangladesh.

“No logical ground is prevailing now, so Bangladesh would be happy if Japan takes quick measure regarding the issue,” the minister told Japanese Parliamentary Vice Minister on Foreign Affairs Iwao Horii during a bilateral meeting at a hotel in Tokyo, said a ministry release.

Japan imposed travel alert for its nationals following the killing of Japanese citizens in an attack on the Holey Artisan Bakery in Gulshan on July 1, 2016.
