DHL Express adds 18 EVs to its delivery fleet in Bangladesh

Dhaka: DHL Express Bangladesh has added 18 new electric vehicles (EVs) to its pickup and delivery fleet as part of a broader push to cut carbon emissions across operations, said the company in a press release on July 14.
The newly added EVs will replace an existing batch of internal combustion engine vans, and the transition is expected to lower fleet-related greenhouse gas emissions by roughly 28 percent.
DHL Express Bangladesh introduced the country's first commercially operated electric delivery van back in 2023. Since then, the company has continued expanding its EV fleet in the country.
With the latest addition, the company aims to raise its EV count to 39 by the end of 2026, which would make up nearly half of its pickup and delivery fleet in Bangladesh.
The move aligns with a company-wide target set by DHL Group, the German logistics conglomerate, to electrify at least 66 percent of its pickup and delivery fleet globally by 2030.
Md. Miarul Haque, Managing Director for DHL Express Bangladesh, said alongside electrifying its pickup and delivery fleet, the company has also witnessed growing customer interest in its GoGreen Plus service, which allows clients to reduce greenhouse gas emissions through the use of sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
DHL Express Bangladesh said the fleet expansion is part of DHL Group's global sustainability strategy and reflects its broader commitment to reducing greenhouse gas emissions across its operations worldwide.
The company added that the move also mirrors the growing momentum behind electric mobility in Bangladesh, and it hopes to help build wider demand for commercial EV adoption in the country going forward.
